S 1271: Relates to requiring a licensed massage therapist to display such licensed massage therapist's license when practicing and the required contents of such license, including at a minimum the licensee's name, license number and a non-removable photograph of such licensee.
The bill requires licensed massage therapists to display their licenses in public view when practicing. Only individuals licensed or authorized to practice massage therapy are allowed to use the title "massage therapist" or similar terms. Any advertisement for massage or massage therapy services must be performed by a licensed or authorized individual. A new requirement for licenses issued under the law is that they must include the licensee's name, license number, and a non-removable photograph of the licensee. The bill takes effect on the 60th day after it becomes a law.
