The bill aims to provide distinctive license plates for gold star family members, which includes gold star mothers, parents, spouses, and children of fallen service members. These plates will be issued without a registration fee, and additional plates can be issued for each vehicle registered in the name of the gold star family member. The plates will be issued in the same manner as other number plates, but without the regular registration fee. The bill will take effect 90 days after it becomes a law, and any necessary rules or regulations will be implemented on or before that date.
