STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 1679 2025-2026 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 13, 2025 ___________ Introduced by Sen. ROLISON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to granting peace officer status to uniformed court officers in the town of Mont- gomery The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 88 to read as follows: 3 88. Employees of the town court of the town of Montgomery serving as 4 uniformed court officers at such town court; provided, however, that 5 nothing in this subdivision shall be deemed to authorize such officer to 6 carry, possess, repair or dispose of a firearm unless the appropriate 7 license therefor has been issued pursuant to section 400.00 of the penal 8 law. 9 § 2.
