What S 1712 does, verified January 8, 2026

The bill aims to include care and services provided by school psychologists within the standard Medicaid coverage for recipients. This means that school psychologists certified to provide these services under the education law will be covered under Medicaid, just like other healthcare professionals. The bill does not modify or expand the scope of practice of school psychologists, but rather clarifies their role in providing care and services within their authorized scope. The changes will take effect 180 days after the bill becomes a law.
