The Thruway 2 Toll Equality Act aims to provide a toll discount program for qualified residents who do not maintain an e-zpass account. This program waives additional costs beyond actual tolls incurred during travel on the New York State Thruway system for residents who receive certain government benefits or vouchers. Qualified residents must pay an amount for tolls not greater than the amount paid by individuals with an e-zpass account in good standing, linked to a bank account or credit card. The program excludes residents with e-zpass accounts and applies only to tolls incurred within New York State. The program will take effect sixty days after the bill becomes a law.
