What S 2021 does, verified January 8, 2026

The bill aims to amend the Penal Law to allow certain firearm licensees to open carry. Currently, the law restricts the carrying of firearms without a license. The proposed change would permit individuals with the necessary licenses to carry firearms openly, regardless of their employment or location. The law would also remove existing restrictions on carrying firearms. The bill would take effect on November 1, and any necessary regulations would be implemented by November 1 as well.
