What S 2062 does, verified May 14, 2026

The proposed constitutional amendment guarantees two fundamental rights for all individuals: the right to food and the right to be free from hunger, malnutrition, starvation, and life-threatening scarcity of food. Individuals have the right to grow, raise, harvest, produce, and consume their own chosen food for nourishment and bodily health, as long as they do not commit trespassing, theft, or other abuses of private property rights. This amendment aims to ensure access to nourishing food and protect individuals from hunger and its consequences, while allowing for the preservation of private property rights.
