The bill aims to protect the personal information of customers when renting vehicles. Rental vehicle companies must remove all personal information from the vehicle once it is returned to the customer. This means that personal details such as license plates, phone numbers, and addresses will be erased from the vehicle's systems and any physical records will be destroyed. The changes will take effect thirty days after the bill becomes a law.
