S 2371: Requires that new administrative rules that imposes a new administrative burden on a business shall be offset by the repeal of an existing rule.
The "Red Tape Reduction Act" aims to simplify state regulations and reduce administrative burdens on businesses. The bill requires that new rules imposing administrative burdens on businesses be offset by amendments or repeals of existing rules. This means that if a new rule increases a business's administrative costs, an existing rule must be modified or eliminated to compensate for the increased cost. The bill also requires that notices of proposed rulemaking include information on the existing rules to be amended or repealed. The changes take effect immediately, applying to notices of proposed rulemaking submitted on or after the effective date.
