S 2600: Waives certain licensure fees for veterans.

New York · Senate · 2025–2026 Legislative Session · last verified January 22, 2026

What S 2600 does, verified January 22, 2026

The bill aims to exempt United States veterans from paying the renewal fee for a driver's license. To qualify, the veteran must have served in the active military or naval service during a war in which the US engaged, or been furloughed to the reserve. This change would benefit veterans who have served their country and are seeking to renew their driver's license without incurring an additional fee. The bill would take effect immediately.
