What S 2665 does, verified January 8, 2026

The bill aims to require gender-neutral bathrooms in state-owned buildings. Currently, state-owned buildings must designate single-occupancy bathrooms as gender-neutral. However, if no single-occupancy bathroom is available, multiple-occupancy bathrooms must be designated as gender-neutral instead. Adequate notice must be provided to all persons in state-owned and state-leased buildings to reasonably find designated gender-neutral bathrooms. The bill will take effect 90 days after it becomes a law.
