SCARCELLA-SPANTON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to limiting the amount of the fine to be paid for violating the E-ZPass system The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new 2 section 354-a to read as follows: 3 § 354-a. Violation cap. Notwithstanding the provisions of any law to 4 the contrary, if any person fails to pay a toll as required by the 5 E-ZPass system, the authority shall not issue a fine exceeding the 6 amount of the unpaid toll. 7 § 2.
