S 3064: Requires district leadership teams and school leadership teams to include student representatives; provides who should appoint such representatives.
The bill establishes certain requirements for student representatives on district leadership teams and school leadership teams. Each team must appoint one student representative to serve as a member of the team. Student representatives on district leadership teams are high school students appointed by the community superintendent. Student representatives on school leadership teams are student representatives appointed by the team's chairperson or co-chairpersons. The bill takes effect 90 days after it becomes a law, and rules and regulations can be implemented immediately.

Title 21-A of the administrative code of the city of New 2 York is amended by adding a new chapter 23-A to read as follows: 3 CHAPTER 23-A 4 LEADERSHIP TEAMS 5 § 21-990.1 Student leadership. a. Each district leadership team and 6 school leadership team shall appoint one student representative to serve 7 as members of such teams. 8 b. Student representatives appointed to a district leadership team 9 shall be high school student representatives and shall be appointed by 10 the community superintendent. 11 c. Student representatives appointed to school leadership teams shall 12 be student representatives and shall be appointed by the chairperson or 13 co-chairpersons of such team. 14 § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall 15 have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or 16 repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implementation of 17 this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed 18 on or before such effective date.
