What S 3120 does, verified January 8, 2026
The bill aims to provide special designation for veterans on driver's licenses in New York. The law will allow veterans who have served honorably to request a distinguishing mark on their license, which will indicate that they are a veteran. This mark can be added to a license or identification card for free, as long as it is not a duplicate or amendment prior to renewal. The bill also requires that identification cards issued to minors under 21 years old prominently display the phrase "under 21 years of age". The law will take effect on the 90th day after it becomes a law.
