Senate BillIntroduced
S 3191: Prohibits early voting on federal holidays; adds an additional day to the early voting period.
What S 3191 does, verified February 13, 2026
The proposed legislation aims to modify the early voting rules in New York State. It would prohibit early voting on federal holidays and add an extra day to the early voting period to compensate for the lost day. The law would also ensure that individuals who vote during the early voting period are not allowed to vote again in the same election. The changes would take effect on the same date as the reversion of the current early voting law.
