What S 3437 does, verified July 2, 2025
The bill aims to establish a for-profit hospice-free environment in New York State. No new for-profit hospices can be established, and existing ones cannot increase their capacity if they are operated on a for-profit basis. This change applies to any new or existing hospice approved after the bill takes effect. The goal is to prioritize patient care over profit in the state's hospice system.
