STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 3529 2025-2026 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 28, 2025 ___________ Introduced by Sen. ORTT -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT to amend the village law, in relation to volunteer members of village fire companies The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 14 of section 10-1006 of the village law is 2 amended to read as follows: 3 14. A village board of trustees may not adopt a local law changing, 4 amending or superseding this section, except for subdivision seven of 5 this section. 6 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
