New York · Senate · 2025–2026 Legislative Session · last verified January 8, 2026

What S 3725 does, verified January 8, 2026

The proposed law aims to increase transparency in state government by making agency payroll records available to the public. Each state agency is required to maintain and make available their payroll records, regardless of other provisions in the Public Officers Law. This change will provide the public with more access to information about state employees' salaries and compensation. The law will take effect six months after it becomes a law.
