S 3733: Relates to electronic citation fees or the process of transmitting traffic, misdemeanor, municipal ordinance, conservation, or other citations and law enforcement data via electronic means to a county clerk.
The bill aims to establish an electronic citation fee system in the state. The fee, set at five dollars, is to be paid by defendants who plead guilty, are found guilty, or receive a grant of supervision for traffic, misdemeanor, municipal ordinance, or conservation citations. The fee is to be collected by county clerks and used to fund the establishment and maintenance of electronic citations. Sixty percent of the fee is to be deposited into a county-specific fund, while forty percent is to be disbursed to the arresting agency to cover related expenses.
