Senate BillIntroduced
S 3844: Requires that any disposition of land or buildings by the New York City Housing Authority be subject to and comply with the provisions of New York City's Uniform Land Use Review Procedure.
What S 3844 does, verified February 3, 2025
The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) must follow the city's Uniform Land Use Review Procedure when disposing of land or buildings. This means that any sale, lease, or other disposition of NYCHA property will be subject to review and approval by the relevant city agencies. The NYCHA real property public review act aims to increase transparency and accountability in the agency's decision-making process. The law will take effect immediately, requiring the NYCHA to comply with the new requirements.
