S 3850: Includes sporting events within the definition of places of public entertainment and amusement for purposes of wrongful refusal of admission to and ejection from places of public entertainment and amusement.
The bill aims to amend the Civil Rights Law to include sporting events within the definition of places of public entertainment and amusement. It prohibits places of public entertainment and amusement from refusing admission to or ejecting people over 21 years old who present a valid ticket a reasonable time before the performance. However, the bill allows for the refusal of admission or ejection of people whose conduct or speech is abusive or offensive, or those engaged in activities that may breach the peace. The places of public entertainment and amusement include legitimate theaters, music halls, and circuses. The changes will take effect immediately.
