What S 3976 does, verified January 8, 2026
The bill aims to eliminate the fee for sex offenders to make changes to their registration information. Currently, sex offenders must pay a fee of $10 when they change their address or status of enrollment, attendance, employment, or residence at an institution of higher education. The new law will remove this fee, making it easier for sex offenders to update their information. The changes will take effect immediately, allowing sex offenders to update their information without incurring a fee.
