What S 4017 does, verified January 8, 2026

The bill aims to improve the geographical coverage of technical assistance programs in communities with a predominantly minority population. These programs, which include entrepreneurial, business start-up, growth, and expansion assistance, are overseen by the corporation and supported by state funds. A study will be conducted to evaluate the coverage area and identify gaps. If gaps are found, the corporation will partner with not-for-profit organizations to supplement the needs of these communities, providing convenient hours of operation and technical assistance.
