The commissioner, in consultation with the commissioner of health, will establish training requirements for these individuals. Additionally, non-nursing staff can perform tasks, under the supervision of a nurse, that are otherwise limited to the scope of practice of a licensed or registered nurse. These staff members must also complete training deemed adequate by the commissioner. The changes take effect immediately.
