Senate BillIntroduced
S 4208: Prohibits the sale of dry ice to individuals under eighteen years of age; provides a violation shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars.
What S 4208 does, verified January 8, 2026
The bill prohibits the sale of dry ice to individuals under the age of 18. No person or business can knowingly sell dry ice to someone under 18. Before making a sale, the seller must verify the buyer's age. Identification is not required if the buyer appears to be at least 25 years old, but this does not provide a defense if the sale is later challenged. Violating this law can result in a civil penalty of up to $500. The law takes effect 60 days after it becomes law.
