S 4433: Requires the clear and conspicuous disclosure of pricing changes for online grocery delivery and online pick-up services; imposes a fine of not more than one hundred dollars for the first offense and not more than two hundred fifty dollars for a second and each subsequent offense for violations.
The bill aims to regulate the pricing of online grocery delivery and pick-up services in New York. It requires food retailers and third-party delivery platforms to clearly disclose their pricing policies, indicating whether the online price is the same as the in-store price or if it is higher or lower. The disclosure must be easily accessible to consumers and include a link to the retailer's website if available. The bill also imposes fines of up to $250 for violating the provisions. The effective date of the bill is 90 days after it becomes a law, and the state secretary is authorized to promulgate rules and regulations to carry out the provisions.
