Senate BillIntroduced
S 4459: Adds W-18(4-chloro-N-1-2-(4-nitrophenyl)ethyl 2piperidinylidenebenzenesulfonamide) to the schedule of controlled substances.
What S 4459 does, verified October 12, 2026
The bill aims to add a new controlled substance, W-18, to the schedule of controlled substances in New York. W-18 is a synthetic cannabinoid that is currently listed as a Schedule I substance under federal law. The addition of W-18 to the state's schedule of controlled substances would mirror the federal classification, making it a highly regulated substance. The bill would amend the Public Health Law to include W-18 in the list of controlled substances, and it would take effect immediately. This change would provide clarity and consistency in the regulation of W-18 in New York, aligning with federal standards.
