What S 455 does, verified June 10, 2025

The bill allows public bodies to conduct meetings via videoconferencing, as long as a minimum number of members are present in the same physical location where the public can attend. For advisory bodies, at least one quarter of the members and the relevant presiding officer must be present in the physical location. The bill defines an "advisory body" as an entity that provides advisory services in policy development, program planning, and program evaluation, but does not include voting power in determining the final policy or programmatic outcome. The amendments take effect immediately, but the repeal of the affected section is also effective.
