What S 4818 does, verified May 28, 2025

The proposed law aims to improve the curb repair process in the city of New York. The law requires curbs to be made of the same material and meet the same dimensions and construction standards as previously prescribed by the city. Homeowners can request repairs through the NYC 311 website and expect them to be completed within a reasonable time frame of 90 days. If repairs are not completed within this time, homeowners can hire a licensed contractor to do the work and receive a property tax credit for the reasonable cost.
