What S 5391 does, verified January 8, 2026

The "Preserving Our Culinary Traditions Act" aims to exempt cooking and food preparation from environmental regulations. This means that the burning of wood, coal, natural gas, propane, or other fuels for cooking purposes will no longer be subject to prohibitions or restrictions imposed by the state's climate change and community protection efforts. The exemptions apply to any laws, rules, or regulations enacted as part of these efforts. The act takes effect immediately, allowing for the continued use of these fuels for cooking and food preparation.
