Senate BillIntroduced
S 5532: Includes a class three bicycle with electric assist in the definition of limited use motorcycle.
What S 5532 does, verified March 19, 2025
The bill aims to include a class three bicycle with electric assist in the definition of limited use motorcycles. Currently, limited use motorcycles are defined as vehicles with 4 or fewer wheels, a seat or saddle for the operator, and a maximum speed of over 30mph but not over 40mph. The bill will expand this definition to include a class three bicycle with electric assist, effectively adding a new category to the existing definition. This change will allow class three bicycles with electric assist to be classified as limited use motorcycles, subject to the same regulations and restrictions as existing limited use motorcycles.
