What S 6135 does, verified April 30, 2026

The bill aims to designate the county of Kings as a cease and desist zone, where solicitation of real estate is prohibited. This means that individuals or companies cannot solicit potential buyers in the area without permission from the property owner. The bill also establishes an affirmative defense for property owners who have been publicized as having their residential properties for sale. This defense allows property owners to argue that they were allowed to sell their property through various means, such as advertisements or real estate listings. The bill takes effect 30 days after it becomes a law and applies to all nonsolicitation orders issued after that date.
