Senate BillIntroduced

S 6248: Increases the capacity needed to be considered a bottle club from twenty persons to one hundred persons.

New York · Senate · 2025–2026 Legislative Session · last verified January 8, 2026

What S 6248 does, verified January 8, 2026

The proposed law aims to regulate places where people gather to consume alcoholic beverages. Currently, these establishments are not required to have a specific capacity to obtain a license from the state liquor authority. The law proposes to change this by requiring a license for places with a capacity of 100 or more people. The license will ensure that the operator of the establishment has obtained permission from the state liquor authority before allowing people to consume alcoholic beverages on the premises. This change will help prevent unauthorized gatherings and ensure compliance with state regulations.
