S 6423: Relates to transportation services for the school districts of the cities of Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Yonkers.
The bill aims to provide transportation services for students in certain school districts. It allows four specific city school districts (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Yonkers) to offer transportation to students who live more than half a mile away from their school. This transportation is limited to students' homes or before/after-school child care locations, and is restricted to a 15-mile radius. The program is intended to address safety concerns and provide equal access to transportation for students in similar circumstances.
