Senate BillIntroduced
S 6501: Relates to directing the department of health to remove the pharmacy benefit from the managed care benefit package; provides the pharmacy benefit under the fee for service program.
What S 6501 does, verified January 9, 2026
The bill aims to repeal two sections of a 2020 law related to managing healthcare benefits. These sections directed the state's Department of Health to remove the pharmacy benefit from managed care packages and instead provide the pharmacy benefit through the fee-for-service program. The bill would effectively reverse this change, allowing the pharmacy benefit to remain part of managed care packages.
