What S 6601 does, verified January 8, 2026

The bill aims to address motorcycle profiling by requiring law enforcement agencies to condemn it in their policies. This means that local police departments must explicitly state that they do not use a person's motorcycle or related paraphernalia as a reason to stop, question, or search them. Additionally, the bill requires that issues related to motorcycle profiling be included in basic law enforcement training for new officers and offered to in-service officers. The goal is to prevent the illegal use of motorcycle-related factors as a basis for enforcement action.
