S 661: Prohibits the imposition of different premium rates for disability insurance based on gender.
What S 661 does, verified March 18, 2026
The proposed law aims to prohibit insurance companies from charging different rates for disability insurance based on the gender of the insured. This means that insurance companies cannot set varying premiums for individuals of different genders. The law applies to individual, group, and blanket disability insurance policies issued, renewed, modified, or amended on or after the effective date. The law takes effect one year after it becomes a law, allowing time for the implementation of the new regulations.
