The Advanced Coursework Expansion Incentive Grant Program aims to encourage high schools to offer more advanced courses, particularly to economically disadvantaged students. The program provides grants to school districts that expand their college credit earning courses, such as advanced placement and international baccalaureate, and enroll economically disadvantaged students who complete these courses. Each student who completes a course and exams that provide college credit will receive a $350 grant. The program will be funded through a state appropriation, and grants will be awarded to school districts with at least ten economically disadvantaged students who complete the required coursework and exam in the prior year. The program will take effect on July 1st of the following year after the bill becomes a law.
