S 7110: Relates to establishing a remote maternal health services pilot program for Medicaid recipients; provides that such program shall be established during fiscal years 2025-2026, 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 to provide: remote maternal health services to eligible Medicaid recipients, medically necessary remote maternal health services to such eligible recipients for up to 12 months postpartum and payment to healthcare providers who provide remote maternal health services.
The bill establishes a remote maternal health services pilot program for Medicaid recipients. It allows for the use of digital technology to collect medical data and transmit it securely to healthcare providers for interpretation and recommendation. The program provides medically necessary remote maternal health services to eligible recipients for up to twelve months postpartum. Eligibility is determined by a healthcare provider who determines that remote maternal health services meet the standard of care and the recipient has increased risk of a higher-risk pregnancy. The program aims to provide access to consistent obstetrical care to recipients who live in counties without a licensed obstetrician/gynecologist or face barriers to accessing care. The program is implemented for three years, from 2025 to 2028, and takes effect on April 1, 2025.
