S 7252: Prohibits the delivery of an absentee ballot or an application therefore to an address associated with a candidate's campaign.
What S 7252 does, verified January 9, 2026
The bill aims to prohibit the delivery of absentee ballots or applications to addresses associated with a candidate's campaign. It requires voters to provide a valid address where they are registered and where they want the ballot to be mailed. The board of elections will mail an absentee ballot to every qualified voter who requests one in writing, not later than the tenth day before the election. Military and special federal voters have different requirements for requesting ballots. The bill also allows for the delivery of absentee ballots to residents of certain facilities, such as nursing homes and hospitals, without requiring them to be mailed.
