Senate BillIntroduced
S 7298: Increases width and weight of the description specifics for an all terrain vehicle.
What S 7298 does, verified May 8, 2026
The bill aims to amend the Vehicle and Traffic Law to increase the width and weight specifications for all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). Currently, ATVs are limited to a maximum width of 80 inches and a dry weight of 2000 pounds. The bill proposes to remove these restrictions, allowing ATVs to operate without width and weight limitations. This change would enable ATVs to be used on public highways, potentially increasing their accessibility and usage. The bill would take effect 30 days after it becomes a law.
