Senate BillIntroduced
S 7732: Prohibits title insurance corporations from making payments to lenders on title insurance claims when the transaction conveying such title is false or fraudulent.
What S 7732 does, verified May 5, 2026
The Deed Theft: Bank and Lender Accountability Act aims to prevent title insurance corporations from paying claims for fraudulent conveyances. This means that if a title insurance policy is issued in a transaction that is false or fraudulent, the title insurance corporation will not make payments to the lender or mortgage lender based on that policy. The law will take effect 90 days after it becomes a law, allowing for a transition period to ensure compliance.
