STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8355 2025-2026 Regular Sessions IN SENATE June 4, 2025 ___________ Introduced by Sens. COONEY, ASHBY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of the state highway system to Fire Chief Robert Bornt The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 345-d to 2 read as follows: 3 § 345-d. Portion of the state highway system to be dedicated to Fire 4 Chief Robert Bornt. The bridge located on state route two, designated as 5 bridge number 100025, which crosses over state route twenty-two in the 6 town of Petersburg, county of Rensselaer, shall be dedicated to Fire 7 Chief Robert Bornt. 8 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- 9 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system 10 as dedicated pursuant to section one of this act, provided that such 11 signing shall state "Bridge Dedicated to Fire Chief Robert Bornt". 12 However, to avoid confusion and to limit any possible disruption of 13 commerce, the dedication called for pursuant to section one of this act 14 shall be one of ceremonial nature and the official name of such bridge 15 shall not be changed as a result of this act. 16 § 3.
