The proposed law aims to hold individuals accountable for depriving citizens of their constitutional rights, privileges, or immunities under the US or New York state constitutions. This law would allow citizens to sue in court for redress if they are subjected to such deprivations under the color of a federal, state, or local law, ordinance, regulation, custom, or usage.
