STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8564 2025-2026 Regular Sessions IN SENATE November 7, 2025 ___________ Introduced by Sen. BORRELLO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of the state highway system to LCpl. Joseph Bailey The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-s to 2 read as follows: 3 § 344-s. Portion of the state highway system to be dedicated to LCpl. 4 Joseph Bailey. The bridge on New York state route 39, designated as 5 bridge number 46021130 in the town of Gainesville, county of Wyoming, 6 shall be dedicated to LCpl. Joseph Bailey. 7 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- 8 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system 9 as dedicated pursuant to section one of this act, provided that such 10 signing shall state "Bridge Dedicated to LCpl. Joseph Bailey". However, 11 to avoid confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the 12 dedication called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one 13 of ceremonial nature and the official name of such bridge shall not be 14 changed as a result of this act. 15 § 3.
