S 8655: Authorizes the conveyance of certain property by the city of New York to The Allah Youth Center in Mecca Inc.
The bill authorizes the city of New York to transfer and convey certain property to the Allah Youth Center in Mecca Inc. (the Allah School) at no cost. The property, located at 2122 Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard in Manhattan, has been occupied by the school since 1967. The transfer is intended to enable the school to establish a permanent facility to support its continued provision of educational, social, recreational, and developmental community-based services to the Harlem community. The conveyance is subject to use restrictions, requiring the land to be used primarily for operating and maintaining the school, providing services, and establishing a permanent facility.
