S 87: Requires the department of education to study and report on the self-identified ethnicity and multilingual status of all licensed social workers and provide such report to the governor and legislature no later than one year after the effective date of this act.
The state of New York is required to study and report on the self-identified ethnicity and multilingual status of all licensed social workers. The department of education will collect this data during the licensure and re-registration process and compile it in an easily readable format. The commissioner of education must provide the report to the governor, the temporary president of the senate, and the speaker of the assembly within one year of the effective date. The report will be updated and delivered annually for a total of five years. The study and report will take effect immediately.

The department of education shall prepare a comprehensive 2 study and report on the self-identified ethnicity and multilingual 3 status of all licensed social workers. Such data shall be collected 4 during the licensure and re-registration process of such individuals and 5 then compiled in an easily readable format. 6 § 2. The commissioner of education shall provide such report to the 7 governor, the temporary president of the senate and the speaker of the 8 assembly no later than one year after the effective date of this act. 9 Such report shall be updated and delivered annually for a total of five 10 years. 11 § 3.
