What S 9273 does, verified October 17, 2026

The bill aims to exempt certain parcels of land in Manhattan, New York, from licensing restrictions for manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers of alcoholic beverages. These parcels are bounded by specific streets and avenues. The exemptions apply to interests in manufacturers held by businesses or entities located on these parcels, provided the interests were acquired prior to the effective date of the subdivision. The bill also repeals certain provisions of the law relating to these exemptions and allows for the sale or transfer of these parcels without the expiration of the exemptions. If a lease is obtained, the exemptions expire and are deemed repealed upon the end of the lease. The state liquor authority is required to notify the legislative bill drafting commission of any changes to the parcels.
