HB 308: Regards multiple claims as the rightful county central committee
The bill aims to clarify the process for selecting and recognizing county central committees. When there is more than one organized group claiming to be the rightful committee, each group must submit a list of its officers and members to the board of elections. The board of elections will then certify these lists to the state central committee, which will determine and certify the rightful committee within thirty days. This ensures transparency and accountability in the selection process and prevents potential disputes over the legitimacy of a county central committee.
