HB 401: Designate Myositis Awareness Month

Ohio · House · 136th General Assembly (2025–2026) · last verified September 24, 2026

What HB 401 does, verified September 24, 2026

The state of Ohio designates the month of May as "Myositis Awareness Month". This recognition aims to raise awareness about myositis, a rare and chronic autoimmune muscle-wasting disease that causes muscle inflammation and other symptoms. Myositis can lead to a reduced quality of life and lifespan, and is difficult to diagnose. More research is needed to understand the causes and treatments for myositis.
